Golden Eagles to Take on MEC Leading Notre Dame

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The University of Charleston Football team will return home on Saturday to take on the MEC leading Falcons of Notre Dame College with kickoff scheduled for 12:00 p.m. The Golden Eagles (4-1, 3-1 MEC), who come off a 51-12 triumph over Wheeling, moved into sole possession on 4th place in the MEC while Notre Dame (5-0, 5-0 MEC) defeated West Virginia Wesleyan a 52-6 at home this past weekend.

FOR STARTERS
• The Golden Eagles are looking to improve to 5-1 for the first time since 2015, the same season as UC had a program-best 10-2 record.
• Charleston has outscored opponents 105-36 in the first half this season.
• This will be the seventh meeting between the two programs, with the series currently tied at 3-3 with Notre Dame winning the last three contests.

THE OPPOSITION
Riding a 17-game MEC winning streak, Notre Dame College currently sits at the top of the MEC at 5-0 in conference play. In his fourth season as Head Coach of the Falcons, Mike Jacobs has complied a 35-6 record (.854), best amongst MEC coaches since 2016. Notre Dame is led offensively by Jaleel McLaughlin who comes into Saturday ranked 1st in Division II in rushing yards with 921 yards while averaging 8.0 yards/rush. In addition to 12 touchdowns, McLaughlin has attributed to 44.4% of the Falcons total yards this season. Charleston's last victory over the Fighting Falcons came on September 3, 2016 when UC Receiver Joey Augustin set the UC record and tied an MEC record at the time with four touchdown receptions in a 56-44 win over the Falcons
