Charleston Returns Home on Thursday Against Wheeling

CHARLESTON, W.Va -- The University of Charleston Women's Soccer will return home on Thursday afternoon to face off against Wheeling University (0-10-0, 0-7-0 MEC) with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at the Welch Athletic Complex. The Golden Eagles (5-5-1, 3-3-1 MEC), who finished the week tying West Liberty on the road, currently sits in 4th place in the MEC South.

Last Game: The Golden Eagles tied for the first time this season on Sunday, battling for 110 minutes of scoreless play against the Hilltoppers of West Liberty. Despite holding a 14-2 advantage in shots, the Golden Eagles were unable to capitalize on net as WLU Goalkeeper Olivia Montgomery recorded a season-high 10 saves against the Golden Eagles.

About the Opposition: Wheeling comes into Thursday holding a 0-10-0 record (0-7-0 MEC). The Cardinals have been outscored this season 46-10 while the goalkeeping tandem of Megan Herter and Mikayla Yarwood have combined for 70 saves. In their matchup history, Charleston holds a 11-1-2 advantage over the Cardinals. Charleston's last loss to the Cardinals came on September 25, 2013 as UC has won nine straight contests against Wheeling including a tie in 2015.
