WESLEYAN, W. Va. – The University of Charleston Men's soccer team was able to get the job done on Sunday against West Virginia Wesleyan, defeating the Bobcats 3-0. The Golden Eagles, who got goals from
Freddy Tracey, Ettore Ballestracci, and
Eduardo Iranzo, moved their Mountain East record to 12-0-1 on the season. With the shutout, Charleston was able to remain atop of Division II in team goals against average.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Charleston jumped on the board in the 10
th minute of the game after
Jesus Cabanas, who carried the ball in the offensive corner, sailed a pass through the air to Tracey who headed it in to put the Golden Eagles on top 1-0.
Good defense from both units kept the game close until UC was able to extend their lead to two in the 61
st minute after
Joao Lima found Ballestracci for Charleston's second header of the game. The assist from Lima moved Charleston into 3
rd in Division II in assists with 37 on the season as a team.
UC was able to add one more goal in the 82
nd minute after Iranzo forced a Bobcat turnover following a goal kick to extend their lead to 3-0.
On the day, Charleston out-shot the Bobcats 14-5 and UC Goalkeeper
Alvaro Unanua Dean recorded four saves on four shots faced.

The Golden Eagles will return home to square off against Davis & Elkins on Wednesday with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Senators currently hold the sixth spot in the Mountain East and will face off against Urbana at 3:30 p.m. today.
