Box Score CHARLESTON, W. Va. – The Golden Eagles collected three conference points and a win on Wednesday with a 2-0 defeat over the Davis & Elkins Senators.
Madison Hansen was the lone Golden Eagle to score a goal, converting from the PK spot in the 50
th minute of play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Both teams struggled offensively in the first half, only tallying six shots between the two sides. Charleston was awarded a corner in the 42
nd minute of play that resulted in an own goal for the Senators, giving the Golden Eagles the 1-0 lead heading into the half.
Five minutes into the start of the second half, a handball in the box put the ball at the PK spot for Charleston. Sophomore center back, Madison Hansen converted from the spot giving Charleston the 2-0 lead with 40 minutes to play. Less than a minute later, the Senators were awarded a penalty. The shot was saved by Hensley preserving the shutout for the Golden Eagles.
The Golden Eagles closed out the game with seven shots to the Senators four. With the victory, Charleston moved into sole possession of 3rd place in the MEC South with two games remaining.

The Golden Eagles will travel to Frostburg State on Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 5:00 p.m. against the Bobcats.
