Golden Eagles Set to Play Glenville State on Senior Day

 
CHARLESTON, W. Va. -- The University of Charleston Women's Soccer team will play Glenville State College this Sunday at the Welch Athletic Complex with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Charleston (4-4, 2-2 MEC), who was dropped by Concord 2-0 last week, look to improve to 4-0 all-time against the Pioneers. In addition, UC will be celebrating Senior Day to honor Carly Anderson, Anna Capozzi, Brooke Garey, Allison Jones, and Jasmine Rockhold.

Last Game: The Golden Eagles moved to 2-2 in MEC play after falling to the Mountain Lions of Concord University after two first half goals and a scoreless second ended the at 2-0. The Mountain Lions used just four shots on goal to defeat the Golden who produced just two shots on net. Concord's first goal of the match came in the 16th minute after Leah Foster was fed a pass from Zoe Belding that led her to a one-on-one opportunity with UC Goalkeeper Kaylee Hensley before finishing past Hensley into the right side of the net for her fifth goal of the season. The remainder of the half was quiet until Olivia Medieros was able to give Concord a 2-0 lead with a goal in the 42nd minute.

About the Opposition: Glenville State (2-6, 0-4 MEC) was defeated 6-0 on the road by Concord on Thursday. The Pioneers have struggled to put together goals during MEC play as they have been outscored by Mountain East opponents 16-0 in just four games this season.
