CHARLESTON, W. Va. – The University of Charleston Golden Eagles Women's Basketball team (2-1, 0-0 MEC) defeated the Panthers of Ohio Dominican University (0-3, 0-0 GMAC) 78-66 on Wednesday evening on John Dickinson Family Court at the Wehrle Innovation Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Charleston jumped out to an early advantage, leading the Panthers 10-2 with 4 minutes left in the first quarter before Ohio Dominican ended the quarter on a 12-7 run to bring the score to 17-14 at the quarters' end.
The scoring in the second quarter went in the favor of the Panthers who outscored the Golden Eagles 21-16 to carry a 35-33 lead into halftime.
Heading into the 4
th quarter with the Golden Eagles trailing by two, Charleston used their power down low to bring the score within a point. The score was 60-59 in favor of the panthers with 5:50 remaining in the contest before the Golden Eagles exploded, putting together a 19-6 run to end the contest behind great defensive play.
On the day, the Golden Eagles outscored the Panthers 52-32 in the paint while the Panthers had the edge from behind the 3-point line, making seven of their 18 shots.
The Golden Eagles outrebounded Ohio Dominican 20-7 on the offensive glass and 22-20 of the defensive boards.
