FAIRMONT, W.Va. --University of Charleston women's tennis returned to their winning ways on Thursday afternoon on the road at Fairmont State University, cruising past the Falcons by a score of 6-1.
UC was able to secure the doubles point after taking two of the three doubles courts, winning at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Â Charleston carried the momentum into singles play, earning victories on five of the six singles courts en route to their fourth consecutive MEC win. Â It was the first time this season that the Golden Eagles have surrendered a point to an MEC foe.
The Golden Eagles got straight set wins on singles courts three through six from Elise Edwards, Mathilde Simon, Regina Lopez-Saucedo, and Meggan William. Â Charrleston looks to improve on their unbeaten MEC record on Saturday as they head north to take on the Hilltoppers of West Liberty University. Â First serve is scheduled for 1:00 p.m with the Toppers.
