CHARLESTON, W.Va. --  University of Charleston women's tennis picked up wins number 16 and 17 on Sunday afternoon, defeating Shaw University 6-1 followed by a 7-0 Mountain East Conference victory over Concord University.

It was the last weekend of home matches for the Golden Eagles as they celebrated the careers of their four seniors, Caisie Adcock, Elise Edwards, Kristine Gegeshidze and Silvana Slusarciuc. Edwards will end her career as the all-time singles wins leader in Golden Eagle women's tennis history while Gegeshidze will finish in the top-5 despite playing only three seasons for Charleston.  

The Golden Eagles started their morning with a 6-1 win over the Bears from Shaw before capping off their evening with an easy sweep of the Mountain Lions.  UC didn't drop a single game to Concord in the 7-0 victory.  Charleston hits the road Tuesday afternoon in a short trip to Institute, W.Va. to take on the MEC leading Yellow Jackets.  First serves with West Virginia State University is set for 4:00 p.m.
