CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Golden Eagle women's tennis team captured their fourth consecutive win since returning from their Spring Break trip to Florida, shutting out the visiting UVa.-Wise Cavaliers at Schoenbaum Courts, 7-0.
Charleston took two of the three doubles courts to take a 1-0 lead heading into singles. Â The Golden Eagles swept all six singles courts without dropping a set to the Cavaliers. Â Kristine Gegeshidze provided the match clinching victory No. 1 singles as UC jumped to a 4-0 advantage over Wise. Â Meggan William returned to the Charleston lineup in convincing fashion, winning at No. 6 singles by scores of 6-0, 6-0.
UC returns to the courts on Sunday morning to host Slippery Rock University. Â First serve is set for 10:00 a.m. at Schoenbaum Courts.
