CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- University of Charleston women's tennis swept Slippery Rock University, 7-0, in an important Atlantic Region matchup at Schoenbaum Courts on Sunday morning.
UC took two of three doubles courts against the Rock to earn the doubles point. Elise Edwards and Silvana Slusarciuc paired up for a win at No. 2 whlie Mathilde Simon and Regina Lopez-Saucedo clinched the point for Charleston with a victory at No. 3 doubles.
The Golden Eagles swept the singles play to earn their second straight 7-0 result. Elise Edwards put Charleston up 2-0 with an easy victory at No. 3 singles followed by Kristine Gegeshidze winning in straights at No. 1 to set up Mathilde Simon's match clinching win at No. 5 singles.
