Golden Eagles set to Face Queens University of Charlotte in Road Contest

The UC Golden Eagles Women's Soccer team will face an early season test on the road as they travel to Charlotte, N.C. on Wednesday to face Queens University of Charlotte with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Charleston, who is coming off their first win of the season with a 1-0 defeat over Seton Hill, will face the Royals who upset No. 20 ranked Barry University on Saturday after an own goal with less than four minutes remaining gave Queens the 2-1 victory.

After upsetting No. 20 ranked Barry, Queens faced off against Embry-Riddle University on Monday morning and was defeated by the Eagles 3-0, moving the Royals to 1-1-0.

Coming off a loss to Kutztown where UC produced only three shots on goal in 10 attempts, the Golden Eagles did a much better job against the Griffins as they put six of their eight attempts on net as the lone goal of the game came off the foot of Evelina Von Euler. Goalkeeper Kaylee Hensley, who recorded her second career solo shutout, recorded six saves on 10 shots.

Last season, Queen's defeated Charleston 2-0 at Schoenbaum Stadium.

Following the match, Charleston will return to their new home, the Welch Athletic Complex, where the Golden Eagles will square off against Tiffin University with kickoff scheduled for Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
