Golden Eagles Return Home on Sunday against Wesleyan

 
The UC Golden Eagles Women's Soccer team returns home to the Welch Athletic Complex on Sunday to face off against the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan (1-2-0, 1-0 MEC). With kickoff scheduled for 1:00 p.m., the Golden Eagles look to bounce back following a 1-0 loss to Davis & Elkins in their MEC opener on Thursday.

Last Game: The Golden Eagles fell to MEC newcomer Davis & Elkins 1-0 following a goal from Asheli Freed with just under 17 minutes remaining in the first half. UC Goalkeeper Kaylee Hensley ended up with five saves in net for the Golden Eagles while McKenna Sullivan finished with three shots on goal for UC.

About the Opposition: The Bobcats, who come off a 6-0 victory over Glenville State, held the Pioneers to just two shots while producing 26 of their own. Senior Audrey Barber finished with two goals and an assist while in total, the Bobcats had four players finish with goals while three racked up assists.
 
The game marks 21st time that the teams will square off, with the Bobcats holding a 12-4-4 advantage over the Golden Eagles. Charleston's last victory came in the 2016 MEC Tournament Semifinal match as the second-seeded Golden Eagles defeated Wesleyan in overtime.
