In a game physical game that resulted in a combined 39 fouls and seven yellow cards, the University of Charleston Men's Soccer team dropped their season opener in a game that consisted of just 13 shots with five on net. Charleston won the battle of limited shots with seven including three on net but a goal in the 74
th minute on a loose ball in front of the penalty arc allowed for Ohio Valley to prevail during an early season exam against the UC defense.
Headed into halftime tied at 0-0, both teams applied defensive strategy pushed the game scoreless throughout most of the second half. Charleston forward
Ettore Ballestracci led the Golden Eagles with a pair of shots (one on goal), while two shots on goal from David Bercedo led the way for the Fighting Scots.
