Salisbury, NC- The Golden Eagle Women's Basketball team looked to bounce back after taking a loss to Cal. U Pennsylvania on Sunday. Charleston would go on to beat the Vikings of Livingstone College by nine points.

How it Happened
The player of the night Markyia McCormick started her night shooting 50% from the floor and 33% from beyond the arch to give her 10 first half points.

As a team in the first half the Golden Eagles shot just 26% Â from the floor and had only one three pointer in the first half. Going into halftime Charleston was down by just one and looked to step on the gas in the second half.

The ladies would come out firing in the second half after baskets by Anastasiia Zakharova and a three pointer by Sierra Davis to tie the score at 25. Markyia McCormick would add 13 points in the second half as she shot 45% from the floor and 33% from three point land again in the second half.

Charleston dominated down the stretch, at one point extending their lead to 18 with 1:21 in the fourth quarter. As a team they shot 39% from the floor and made two threes in the second half.
The Golden Eagles would rely on their dominant second half as they outscored Livingstone 33-23. The ladies also stayed out of foul trouble, only allowing the Vikings to go to the line twice all night. This difference would be enough to give Charleston their second win of the year as they head into conference play this weekend.

Sierra Davis would add nine points in the winning effort while Trinity Palacio and Anastasiia Zakharova both had eight.
