Charleston, W.Va- The Golden Eagles competed against in division opponent Davis and Elkins on Tuesday night. The Senators came into the game locked at 2
nd place in the South Division with the Golden Eagles looking to gain ground in the standings.

How it Happened
The exciting night would begin with a long first set. The Golden Eagles and Senators would duke it out all night in a momentum determined match. After a few early points the Golden Eagles would take the score from 18 to 22 and give the girls a chance to close out set one with a victory. However, the Senators came roaring back and closed the set with three straight points to win 27-25.
The second set would be the longest of the day with UC coming out on top. After being ahead 21-18, Davis and Elkins would score five straight to take it to 23-21. Charleston bounced back with kills by McKenzie Carpenter, and Sage Bearnson, and a service ace from freshman Madison Jackson. The teams would exchange points from there but finally UC would take two in a row to close the set.
After the two long and thrilling sets were completed, Davis and Elkins looked to take control and would win the third by a score of 25-18.
The Golden Eagles wouldn't go down quietly and made a fantastic run of their own in the fourth set. They went up 19-12 aided by a five-point swing in the middle of the set. Another three straight points with two kills by Kenzie Carpenter and another ace from Reagan Phillips would close set four 25-21.
The shortened fifth set would prove to be the culmination of the long night of action that all the fans in the stands had hoped for. UC would see themselves tied at six when they would manage to string together four straight points to go up 10-6. From there it was just about taking care of business and playing smart. The final point came from a beautiful block by veteran middle blocker Ally Fisher.
In the match Ally Fisher held a .333 hitting percentage, Sage Bearnson had 15 kills, and Madison Jackson would collect 16 digs to lead the Golden Eagles to victory. Kenzie Carpenter and Reagan Phillips added13 and 12 kills respectively
