How It Happened
In the previous two meetings between the schools, Charleston has taken both contests handily. Today would be much of the same for the Golden Eagles as they would go on to take care of business in hopes of a playoff berth. Charleston does need some good fortune to be able to qualify for a regional bid, but winning would give them a much better chance.

The first quarter was a defensive show with the only scoring coming from a Tim McCutchen field goal from 30 yards out.

The second quarter was where the Golden Eagles would pull away, outscoring Wheeling 21-0 in the quarter. First, QB Guy Myers would punch in a 2 yard run after a 10 play 76 yard drive to make the score 10-0.

With six minutes left in the half, Guy Myers would find his favorite target, Colby Cooper, for a six-yard touchdown to put Charleston up 17-0.

Shortly after, the player of the game, Tyreik McAllister, would punch in his first of three touchdowns on the day.  He scampered 14 yards for the score and would put the Golden Eagles up 24-0. The touchdown would mark the end of the scoring in the first half with Charleston firmly in the driver's seat for the rest of the game.

Wheeling showed some life with 11:06 left in the third quarter, scoring their first touchdown from a Sy Alli 9-yard rush.

UC responded quickly responded with another Tyreik McAllister score. This time Charleston marched down the field in just under three minutes, punching it in from 6 yards out.

The final score of the day for UC would again come at the hands of Tyreik McAllister. He would run three yards for the score to make it 38-7 Charleston with two minutes left in the quarter.

Wheeling would add two touchdowns in the fourth quarter while the Golden Eagles were held scoreless.

Tyreik McAllister would lead the Golden Eagles in rushing with 241 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground. Guy Myers would end with 76 yards rushing, 1 TD, and 133 yards passing. Keon Freeman, Jermaine Dominique, and Tiz Muhammad would each collect one sack on defense.
Up Next
Charleston will be on the road for their final matchup of the year as they take on WV State at the new facility in Institute.
