Charleston, W.Va- Charleston Women's Basketball had a dominant display of all around basketball as they steamrolled the visiting Wheeling University Cardinals in Werhle Arena on Monday evening.

How it Happened
Charleston had a dominant offensive performance, outscoring Wheeling by a whopping 48 points through four quarters. They also held the Cardinals to less than 15 points each quarter with the highlight coming from a 9-point Wheeling fourth quarter.

From the jump the Golden Eagles took control of the contest as back-to-back three pointers from Clarrissa Francis and Dakota Reeves gave UC an early 8-4 advantage halfway through the first quarter. Tianni Kelley's girls held a 21-13 lead at the end of the first quarter.

UC stepped on the gas just as hard in the second quarter, outscoring Wheeling 20-13. On the half the Golden Eagles shot a red-hot 63% from the field and made 44% of their shots from beyond the arc. They would enter the second half with a 41-23 lead over the Cardinals.

The third quarter saw UC's Dakota Reeve's put up 7 points with one assist as she went 2-2 from three in the quarter. Of the 31 points scored in the third quarter, ten were scored in the paint as UC dominated on the block all night. UC made four threes in the third quarter as well.

The fourth quarter was simply a formality as the Golden Eagles already had the game all but locked up by this point. Still, Charleston outscored Wheeling by thirteen points. The game would end with UC having a 48 point advantage and just six points shy of 100.

On the night UC's leading scorer was the prolific forward Clarrissa Francis. The Junior from Lubbock collected 21 points and was a force in the paint all night. Dakota Reeves, the Junior from Cincinnati collected 18 points and was 4-5 from three. Former MEC Player of the Week Markyia McCormick put up 12 points in the effort.
