Golden Eagles Split With Oilers

CHARLESTON, W. Va. – The University of Charleston softball team continued their home stretch of the 2021 season with a split 8-2 loss, and 2-0 win over University of Findlay on Saturday afternoon at the University of Charleston Softball Complex. Danielle Bauer logged 4.2 innings in her start with Mahealani Haegele (2.1 inn.) coming in to relieve. Morgan Hoppe (7.0 inn.) rounded out the pitching for game two. The Golden Eagles were led by 12 strikeouts from Hoppe, and 9 hits overall for both games.

Game 1:

  • After two scoreless innings, Charleston was able to notch the first run of the game behind a sacrifice bunt from Kendal Marshall

  • Findlay turned out back-to-back two run innings in the fourth and fifth
