INSTITUTE, W. Va.– The University of Charleston Golden Eagles Women's soccer team finished the regular season with a tie to the crosstown rival West Virginia State, as defense was prominent on both sides as the score ended at 0-0 on Friday evening

HOW IT HAPPENED:
In the opening half, the Yellow Jackets held the advantage in shots (7-4), as Charleston keeper Kaylee Hensley made four first half saves. The Yellow Jackets found more shots on net (4) compared to the Golden Eagles (1), as Yellow Jacket keeper Christin Walls made one first half save.
In the second, the Golden Eagles were able to put up 19 shots (eight on goal) compared to just two shots on goal for the Yellow Jackets.
Headed into the overtime frame, Charleston put the ball on net three times while holding WVSU off the board in shots during OT. In the second overtime frame, each team put one shot on net but neither team could finish the job, as the game finished in a 0-0 tie.

The Golden Eagles will await their opponent for the upcoming MEC Tournament which will begin this upcoming week.
