CHARLESTON, W. Va. — The University of Charleston Golden Eagles swept the Alderson Broaddus Battlers on Saturday afternoon. Charleston took game one 8-0 in five innings, followed by a 5-1 win game two.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1:
Charleston got the ball rolling with three runs in the bottom of the first inning on singles from Hannah Rose and Allysa Lake to send runners home.
After a scoreless second inning, Rose hit a double in the bottom of the third to give the Golden Eagles the 4-0 lead. On the next opportunity Brionna Bowman reached on an error allowing Rose to score for the 5-0 advantage.
Gracie Donato increased the Golden Eagles lead to 6-0 with a homer in the bottom of the fourth.
Charleston tacked on a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the 8-0 victory.
Game 2:
The Golden Eagles scored first in the bottom of the second on a SAC Fly from Kendall Marshall.
Charleston increased their lad to 2-0 in the second inning on a single from Megan Eder, before the Golden Eagles scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth for the 4-0 lead.
In the top of the sixth the Battlers scored their first run of the day on a single from Payton Barr, but Charleston sealed the 5-1 win on a single from Bowman that sent Rose home for the score.

Charleston will take on the Notre Dame College Falcons on Sunday. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
