LOCATION: Welch Athletic Complex -- Charleston, W. Va.
TEAM RECORDS: Golden Eagles (10-0-0, 8-0-0 MEC), Wesleyan (7-3-0, 6-2-0 MEC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Charleston jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the 20th minute after Adam Burchell found the back of the net off a pair of beautiful feeds from Eduardo Iranzo and Gabriel Rodriguez to put the Golden Eagles ahead 1-0.

The Falcons jumped right back into it with 12 minutes remaining in the half as Alex Rumleanschi headed a ball that was assisted by Marcus Vinicius Pereria on a corner kick that went by Charleston keeper Marc Torrado to tie the game at one.

Headed into the break tied at one, the Golden Eagles came out of the break with a sense of urgency to score a quick goal and did just that. In the 52nd minute, Christos Charalambous scored his first goal of the game on an assist from Adam Burchell which would go down as the game-winner.

Over the next thirty minutes, the game would remain 2-1 as the Golden Eagles were able to play two men up after a pair of red cards from the Falcons. The advantage was too much for the Falcons to handle, as over the course of the final eight minutes, the Golden Eagles would score a pair.

In the 83rd minute, Rodriguez scored on a ball from Charalambous before eventually scoring the final goal of the game on an assist from Iranzo which gave Charleston a 4-1 win and an MEC Championship.
