CHARLESTON, W. Va. – The University of Charleston Women's Tennis team concluded their season in the Atlantic Region finale on Tuesday afternoon at Schoenbaum Tennis Courts, falling to the Crimson Hawks from IUP 4-2.  
 
The Crimson Hawks avenged a 4-3 defeat from the Golden Eagles on April 10^th. Much like their first matchup, IUP took the doubles point by winning on courts two and three while the #1 pairing of Prinkle Singh/Julia Lif did not finish their match, as the point was clinched.
 
Leading 1-0, IUP needed just three of the six doubles courts. At #5 singles, Julia Lif was defeated in straight sets 6-3, 6-1, which gave the Crimson Hawks a 2-0 advantage in the match. Prinkle Singh got the Golden Eagles on the board after making a tremendous comeback in the first set, rallying from 3-0 down to take the set 7-6(5). Singh would continue to play well, winning the second set 6-2.
 
AlexiAnn Drouin tied the match up at 2-2 for the Golden Eagles after putting on an impressive showing on court #2. The redshirt junior went on to defeat Idoia Huerta in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5.
 
From there, the Crimson Hawks went on to win #4 singles despite a hard fight from Haarini Balakrishnan, who avenged a 6-2 defeat in the opening set to force a tiebreak in the second, eventually falling 7-6(1).
 
Leading 3-2, IUP clinched the match on court six as Laura Dunarova defeated Mathilde Simon 6-2, 6-2. Barbera Balancho, who was playing well and in the third set on court #3, did not finish her match as IUP clinched after their victory at #6.
