CHARLESTON, W. Va. — The University of Charleston Golden Eagles closed out their regular season schedule with a split against the Frostburg State Bobcats.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1:
The Golden Eagles found the score board first after Hannah Rose singled with two runners on to take the 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth.
The Bobcats cut the Golden Eagles lead in half in the top of the sixth, and then with 2 outs in the top of the seventh tacked on three runs in the bottom of the seventh to steal the victory from the Golden Eagles.
Dani Bauer pitched 6.2 innings, tallying just her fifth loss of the 2021 season.
Game 2:
Gracie Donato got the Golden Eagles rolling with a single to centerfield scoring Karli Pinkerton for the 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
In the bottom of the third the Golden Eagles increased their lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the third on a triple from AJ Martin and a single from Karli Pinkerton, but the Bobcats would come up big in the fifth inning tying the game up at 3-3.
The two teams battled back and fourth for five more innings for the Golden Eagles to win in the bottom of the tenth on a SAC fly from Kendall Marshall for the 4-3 victory.
UP NEXT
The Golden Eagles will travel to Salem, Virginia for the Mountain East Conference softball Tournament Friday.
