How It Happened
In previous meetings the Pioneers have offered little resistance to the Golden Eagles. Coming into the Wednesday night contest, Charleston held a 6-0 record in previous meetings. UC dominated possession for the entire game but were unable to hammer home many goals. The first half would pass without a goal from either side. However, UC would have ample opportunities to score holding the corner advantage 6-0.
In the second half at the 52-minute mark, Madison Hansen sent a cross to the foot of Kate Eddy inside the 8-yard box who would finish with a goal into the bottom left corner. The Eddy goal would by all that Charleston needed to surge past the Pioneers. Goalkeeper Kaylee Hensley collected her third clean sheet of the year, only having to stop one shot the entire night.
