WEST LIBERTY, W. Va. – The No. 1 University of Charleston Golden Eagles are officially 2-0, and 1-0 in conference play after defeating the West Liberty Hilltoppers 3-0 in a Sunday road contest.

Charleston got themselves on the board nearly 20 minutes into the contest as Ploutarchos Alonefti split a pair of Hilltopper defenders to score the first goal for the Golden Eagles.
Charleston was unable to break through for the remainder of the first half. Joakim Østvold snuck the ball in off a deflection, scoring his second goal this week in the 59th minute. The Golden Eagles pressed until the final minute of play as Alejandro Larrayoz scored the final goal for UC in the 90th minute of action.
The Golden Eagles outshot West Liberty 15-2 and held a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks in the contest.
