How it Happened
Although Charleston shot well from beyond the arc in the first quarter, the Golden Eagles put up just 16 points but held the Wheeling Cardinals to only eight. Triples came from Trinity Palacio, Haley Moore and Markyia McCormick. Lauren Calhoun scored half of Wheeling's points in the first ten minutes with a pair of two-pointers. Going into the second quarter, the Golden Eagles held a 16-8 lead over Wheeling.

The scoring began to pick up from both sides. In just three minutes, the Golden Eagles went on a 13-4 run to begin the quarter and extend the lead. Sierra Davis sparked the run by knocking home a pair of triples from deep range. The Cardinals began to put up points of their own, but Charleston matched every point that was scored to maintain their eight-point lead from the first quarter. Charleston's last points of the half would come from Haley Moore as she sank her second triple of the game and they would take a 33-25 lead into the locker room.

After the break, Charleston's faith from beyond the arc began to fade as they went 16% (1-6) from three-point land. The Cardinals would not be denied in the paint as they would go on a 11-2 run to tie the game up at 36-36 with 5:55 remaining in the quarter. After four lead changes, Camryn Nadir's triple would give the Golden Eagles the 45-43 lead going into the final quarter of play.

Charleston played their best quarter of basketball in the fourth quarter as they came out and dominated with a 13-0 that lasted six minutes. Clarrissa Francis started the run with a pair of layups to extend the lead by four. Maggie Stephenson would add on to the lead with a layup of her own with 6:44 remaining in the game. Sierra Davis would give Charleston a 55-43 lead with another triple just before the halfway mark in the quarter. Wheeling would go 0-7 from beyond the arc and only landed two shots from the field as they were only able to find seven points on a tough Charleston defense. The Golden Eagle would come away with the 64-50 victory and extend their winning streak to three games.
