Erie, Pa.- The UC Golden Eagles women's tennis team traveled to Erie, PA where they defeated regional opponent Mercyhurst University 6-1.

How it Happened:
All three doubles pairings put up a strong performance, gaining wins on all three courts. Harriet Glaves and Barbara Balancho were the first pairing to put the Golden Eagles on the board, defeating Valentine Budin and Janica Theordora. They were followed closely by Prinkle Singh and Haarini Balkrishnan, who dropped just 2 games to clinch the doubles point. With all matches being played out, AlexiAnn Drouin and Meggan William took the win on court 2, 6-4.
In singles, the maroon and gold dominated, winning three straight singles matches to secure the match. Barbara Balancho was the first to put up a singles win, defeating the Lakers, Nadja Ostojic, 6-4, 6-1. AlexiAnn Drouin rallied back and forth on her to way to defeating Naomi Jahr 6-1 7-5. At the number 3 line, Haarini Balakrishnaan would come through with the clinch, coming back from a 5-0 deficit in the second set to defeat Roisin Murphy 7-5 7-6 (1).
Upperclassmen Prinkle Singh and Meggan William also put up notable performances. Singh won in straight sets, 6-2 7-6(5) while William bounced back from a set down to defeat her opponent 2-6 6-2 10-4.
