Charleston, W.Va.- Golden Eagles defeat Shaw University 5-2 on Thursday afternoon.

How it Happened:
The UC Women's Tennis team saw their first action of the year at the Schoenbaum Courts Thursday, March 10th. Prinkle Singh and Haarini Balakrishnaan extended their winning streak to 6-0 on the season versus Division Two teams. However, the Golden Eagles dropped a close doubles point.
Barbara Balancho was first to put a point on the board for UC, defeating the Bears, Michelle Blaha, 6-3, 6-4. Haarini Balakrhishnaan would follow, defeating her opponent 6-2, 6-1. Aida Montero gained a convincing win at the #6 line. It was senior Meggan William who would come through with the clinch, downing the Bears, Chetna Kumari, 7-5 6-1.
Prinkle Singh (#20) was the final Golden Eagle to gain a singles win, extending her winning streak to 6-0 versus DII opponents this season.
