WTEN: Charleston Drops Close Match to the Oilers

Charleston, W.Va.- Golden Eagles drop close match to University of Findlay.

The Basics:
Location: Charleston Tennis Club
Score: UC 3, UF 4
Records: UC 7-6, UF 8-7

How it Happened:
The Charleston Women's Tennis team suffered a defeat Saturday evening versus a deep oilers squad. Charleston would win at two doubles while the Oilers won at three, leaving the doubles point up to the one line. Charleston would go on to clinch the doubles point after a 6-4 victory by Singh and Balakrishnan. 

Charleston would head into singles with the advantage, and would quickly change the score to 2-0 after upperclassmen AlexiAnn Drouin won at two singles. The match quickly became tied at three all after a win by Singh at one singles and loses on courts three, four, and six. The match came down to court five, where Meggan William was the only remaining Golden Eagle but would eventually fall to the Oilers 4-3.

Highlights of the match include Alexiann Drouin  and Prinkle Singh extended their winning streaks to remain undefeated versus division two opponents this season.

Charleston takes on Walsh this Friday at home. First serve is set for 3pm at the Schoenbaum Courts.
