Charleston, W. Va. - The University of Charleston Golden Eagles hosted the Walsh University Cavaliers this Friday and took the match by a score of 6 – 1.

How it Happened:
The Charleston Women's Tennis team soared to victory Friday afternoon against the Walsh University Cavaliers. Prinkle Singh and Haarini Balakrishnan opened doubles play for the Golden Eagles with a victory by a score of 6 – 2. After dropping the third doubles court, Alexiann Drouin and Meggan William secured the doubles point after being down 4 – 5 in the set. They closed the set out by winning the set tiebreaker won the match, 7 – 6. Charleston dropped #3 doubles, 6 – 3.
Singh and Balakrishnan carried their momentum from doubles into their singles matches. Singh secured the first singles point for the Golden Eagles, winning her match, 6 – 2, 6 – 3. Balakrishnan overcame a first set deficit, to win her match, 6 – 4, 6 – 0. William and Drouin also continued their winning ways, taking both of their singles matches. William cruised to victory winning, 6 – 1, 6 – 1 and Drouin battled with her opponent in both sets, but came away with a 6 – 4, 7 – 5 victory. Harriet Glaves bounced back from her doubles defeat and overcame being a set down to seal the victory for the Golden Eagles, 2 – 6, 7 – 5, 1 – 0 (10 – 4). Charleston dropped #4 singles (6 – 0, 6 – 4). The Golden Eagles defeated the Cavaliers six courts to one and improve to 8 – 6 on the year.
