WEELING, W. Va- The Golden Eagle Men's and Women's Basketball teams are set to compete in the Mountain East Conference tournament this weekend in Wheeling, West Virginia. The tournament will begin on Wednesday at noon at WesBanco Arena.

Women's Basketball

• The Golden Eagles will face off against West Virginia State at noon on Thursday.
• The ladies split the two games they played against the Yellow Jackets prior to Thursday's matchup.
• They enter the tournament as reigning champions after winning in 2021 over Glenvlle State.
• UC boasts a 7-1 record in their last eight games witht their only defeat coming at the hands of top ranked Glenville State University.
• Markyia McCormick was selected to the Mountain East's First Team this week. She leads the Golden Eagles in points per game at 15.9.
• Dakota Reeves boasts a 43.9 % three point field goal percentage and was selected as All-MEC second team.
• Sierra Davis is tied for second on the team in total points at 271 while averaging 11.8 ppg. She also leads the team with 152 total rebounds, averaging 5.8 per game.
• Anastasiia Zakharova averages 5.8 rebounds per game.
• Trinity Palacio averages 32.7 minutes per game and leads the squad with 92 assists and 35 steals on the season.
• The Golden Eagles won their previous matchup against the Yellow Jackets 67-61. Sierra Davis led UC with 14 points while Anastassia Zakharova picked up a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
