WTEN: Golden Eagles Suffer Loss to Crimson Hawks

Charleston, W. Va. - The Golden Eagles fall to Crimson Hawks on Saturday afternoon by a score of 6-1.

The Basics:
Location: Greensburg, PA
Score: UC 1, IUP 6
Records: UC 10-7, IUP 9-7

How it Happened:
Prinkle Singh and Haarini Balakrishnan extended their winning streak to 11-0 from the #1 doubles line, however UC dropped the doubles point. IUP clinched the doubles point at the number #3 line, with a close 7-5 win over Katie Swann and Barbara Balancho.

In singles, Haarini Balakrishnaan gained a convincing victory over IUP's Katy Graydon 7-5, 6-0. Haarini bounced back from a 4-1 deficit in the first set to take the next 11 games. Prinkle Singh dropped her first match of the season versus Division II opponents in a tough third set tiebreak 10-8 versus the Crimson Hawks' Karolin Kitchtag.

Coach Foote said "this was a tough loss, however at this point in the season there are positives that we can build on from today's match. We are looking forward to getting out there and competing again next week."
