How it Happened:
The Golden Eagles were in complete control of the match from the first whistle to the last in the Wednesday evening matchup against the Salem Tigers. The offense could not be stopped as Charleston had six different goal scorers in their ten-goal game.

The first goal of the evening came unassisted by Eduardo Barros in the seventeenth minute. Barros found a ball getting bounced around the defenders and struck it into the bottom right corner of the net for the 1-0 advantage.

The next goal was less than a minute later when Joseph Gasper passed a ball into the eighteen-yard box where Eduardo Barros worked around the defender and once again found the bottom right of the goal, Charleston now leading 2-0 over Salem.

Just several minutes later, Jose Suarez Monaco was taken down inside the box by a Tiger defender, resulting in a Charleston penalty. Suarez stepped up to the spot to take the penalty and banged the ball into the back of the net resulting in the Golden Eagles third goal of the evening.

In the twenty seventh minute of the match, Eduardo Barros completed the hat trick. Felipe Delgado found the clear from the Salem defense that he sent to Francisco Anton on the right side of the box. Anton crossed the ball into the front of the six-yard box where Barros volleyed it in for his third goal of the evening and Charleston's fourth of the match.

The Golden Eagles came out in the second half still in complete control of the match, and in the fifty-third minute, they scored their fifth goal. Giorgos Diakos found himself on the right wing where he crossed a perfect ball to the back post and Isacco Tomelleri headed it past the keeper for a goal.

In the sixty second minute, Tomas Muller crossed a ball from the left wing just inside the six-yard box for Jack Kay who headed in the Golden Eagles sixth goal of the evening over top the keeper.

Three minutes later, Khalb Mesfin found his first goal of the season when he scooted a Caio Moraes pass into the box pass the diving Salem keeper. Charleston now leading Salem 7-0 with just over thirty minutes left to play.

In the eightieth minute, substitute Denys Verbinskyi converted his first goal of the 2023 season. Teammate Ethan Zarka set Verbiniski up with a great pass in the box that was sent in for the eighth goal of the evening.

Just two minutes later, Jack Kay passed a ball from the right side of the eighteen past the keeper that had eyes for the goal, but to ensure the ninth goal of the night was successful. Isacco Tomelleri slid into the six and finished the job. Tomelleri picked up his second goal of the evening while Kay picked up his first assist of the year.

With under two minutes left in the match, the Golden Eagles struck one final time. Defender Tristen Rose played a ball into the box where the right footed Jack Kay passed the ball past the keeper and into the goal for his second of the night.

Charleston's ten goal victory is a season high for the Golden Eagles, with three players scoring multiple goals in the match.
