Charleston, W. Va.—The Golden Eagles drop game one (2-0) of the NCAA DII Atlantic Regional, as they were only able to muster up two hits against the Golden Bears.
It looked promising for UC in the bottom of the sixth inning, as Morgan Hoppe broke up the KU no-no on a single to left field. With one out, Kaylee Hotchkiss moved Hoppe into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt. Hannah Rose then singled to shortstop and later swiped second to put herself into scoring position alongside Hoppe. Despite this, the Golden Eagles were unable to bring home either runner, leaving them scoreless for the rest of the game.
Kutztown plated both of their runners in the top of seventh inning with Hannah Reimel scoring on a sacrifice fly by Sarah Harvat and Brianna Hughes scoring on a single by Haley Gravish.
