Troutville, W. Va. - Charleston defeats West Liberty University 5-0 in game one of the Mountain East Conference (MEC) Tournament and falls to Davis & Elkins 4-3 in game two.
Game One: 5 UC, 0 WLU
Brianna McCown (22-3) dominated in the circle with seven strikeouts and only two hits allowed in seven innings pitched.
The Golden Eagles offense collected eight hits with Allysa Lake, Jeritza Montero and Raegan West all smacking doubles. Hannah Rose went 2-for-3 with a run scored, while Raegan west also went 2-3 with two runs scored.
Game Two: 4 D&E, 3 UC
McCown came in relief for Danielle Bauer (11-5) to start the second inning, as D&E scored two in the first. McCown punched out six Senators in six innings pitched, as Bauer was credited with the loss.
Emma Groe went 1-for-4 with two runs-batted-in (RBIs) and Montero went 1-for-3 with a run scored, an RBI and a walk to lead the Golden Eagles offense.
