Charleston, W. Va – The Golden Eagles would have their first home game in over a week, taking on the Concord Mountain Lions in the Capital City. Charleston rolled into this contest with a five-game win streak, while Concord looked to bounce back after their 73-64 loss to Wheeling last Saturday.

Location: Wehrle Innovation Center
Score: UC 58, CU 70
Records: UC 9-8 (5-5 MEC), CU 9-7 (6-4 MEC)

How it Happened
Through the opening stages of the first quarter, the Mountain Lions would break away from the back-and-forth play and begin to grab a hold of the reigns on the road. They take the lead and stretch to a five-point advantage with a 5-0 run midway through the quarter. The Golden Eagles struggled offensively due to the intense full court press that Concord displayed and would shoot 25% in the quarter with a handful of turnovers. With a 46% conversion rate from the floor, the Mountain Lions would outscore Charleston 16-12 heading into the second quarter. The full court press would be a reoccurring theme for Concord, and Charleston's inability to handle the press would haunt them for the remainder of the half. The Mountain Lions would extend their lead to as much as 15 towards the end of the half and would ultimately take the 35-23 into the locker room.

Concord continued their dominant play into the second half, converting on more than 50% of their shots and scoring nearly 20 points in the period. The Golden Eagles' offensive woes would continue throughout the half with a 24% shooting percentage in the third and 36% in the fourth. Despite their 22 points scored in the fourth period, the Mountain Lions would triumph on the road with the 70-58 victory over Charleston. The Golden Eagles would have 24 turnovers on the night and the Mountain Lions would score 23 of their total points off those turnovers.
