COLUMBUS, Ohio – The University of Charleston softball team split a doubleheader against Ohio Dominican on Tuesday, falling 6-0 in the opener before bouncing back with a 10-5 victory in game two at Panther Field.

How it Happened:
In game one, Charleston (9-7) struggled offensively, managing just one hit against Ohio Dominican's Emma Grau, who tossed a complete-game shutout. The Golden Eagles' lone hit came from
Bianca Polistina in the sixth inning. Starter
Chloe Elliott (2-5) took the loss after allowing six runs on nine hits over 3.1 innings, while
Laila Varney provided 2.2 innings of scoreless relief.
Charleston responded in game two with an offensive explosion, tallying 13 hits and scoring in four different innings. The Golden Eagles jumped out to an early lead, plating two runs in the first and four in the second.
Kayla Moran delivered a key performance at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBIs, including a two-run single in the second and a two-run triple in the sixth.
Hannah Meyer added three RBIs, highlighted by a two-run double in the second.
Pitcher
Addison Mass (6-2) earned the complete-game victory, limiting Ohio Dominican (10-14) to five hits and three earned runs while striking out two.
