The Golden Eagles Are Excited to Announce Their 13 New Recruits for the Upcoming Season

Charleston, W.Va.- The Golden Eagles are thrilled to welcome 13 talented new players to the program this year. With high ambitions and a strong team spirit, they are aiming to compete for the third consecutive year in the NCAA National Tournament. This new class of athletes brings skill, dedication, and leadership, ready to contribute to the team's continued success.

Coach Sarah Leiby quote's on the class: "We've been very busy over the last year working on building our 2025 class and that hard work has paid o; with 13 exciting new additions to our program. This class is a mix of experience and youthful energy along with competitive spirit that will help us achieve our 2025 season goals. We've been able to add players in all positions, which will help us replace our talented graduating class from a year ago. They come from all over the world and country and we're looking forward to seeing them on the field this season!"

Mya Mills: Fr / Midfield / Castle Rock, CO / Real Colorado Athletico ECNL
She is a two-time state runner-up. Off the 4ield, she has excelled academically as an Honor Roll student.
When asked why she chose UC, Mya said: "I chose UC because I wanted to go somewhere that reminded me of home and I wanted to be somewhere with a close community."

Alyssa Loguercio: Fr/ Defender/ Cape Coral, FL/ West Florida Flames GA
She was named 1A Player of the Year. She earned All-Area Regional Team honors. She was named MVP as both a freshman and a senior. She won the Golden Boot from her sophomore through senior year. She is a member of the Scholar Athlete Society, showing strong academic excellence and commitment on and off the field.
Reflecting on her decision to join UC, Alyssa said: "I was told about how good Coach Sarah is as a coach and a person. For a team to do well, a good coach is where it all begins. Athletically, I knew I would be challenged, knowing the program is good, and academically I would be able to pursue nursing. Finally, the community seems to be very kind and supportive."

Axelle Touzeau: Gr/ Midfield/ Labastide Monrejeau, France/ High Point University
Joins UC after competing at the NCAA Division I level with High Point University. Helped her team reach the Big South Conference Championship Final in 2024. Also contributed to the team's run to the Semifinal in 2023. 
Axelle chose Charleston for more than just soccer. "UC feels like home—even before truly knowing it. It's a place that embraces diversity and values international students. On top of that, it's a competitive school both athletically and academically."

Ava Bourne: Fr/ Forward/ Virginia Beach, VA/ Beach FC ECNL
Named to the First Team All-Region/ All State. Earned All-State honors for her outstanding performances on the field.
Reflecting on her decision to join UC, she shared: "What really stood out to me was the excitement the players had during the camp I attended. Their energy and enthusiasm for the season were contagious and made me want to be part of it."

Allie Freese: R-So/ Defender, Forward/ Springboro, OH/ Wright State University
In high school, helped her team win a State Championship and finish as Runner-Up in another season. Led the league in assists for two consecutive seasons.
Allie shared her reasons for choosing Charleston: "Soccer, campus, coaches, and teammates."

Li-Lou Debaecker : Gr/ Midfield/ Beyeux, France/ Stade Malherbe Caen
Developed through the ranks of Stade Malherbe Caen. Competed at the third-highest national level in French women's football. Holds a bachelor's degree in Event Management. Li-Lou chose UC for both its athletic and academic environment, stating:
"I chose UC because of the values that the university and the women's soccer team transmit. For its reputation and excellent sports results—especially the women's soccer team—and for the infrastructure set up for athletes."

Anaé Bühlmann: Fr/ Forward/ Bern, Switzerland/ BSC Young Boys
Swiss Champion at both U17 and U19 levels. Runner-Up at the U20 level. Off the field, recently earned her High School Diploma in Psychology, showing strong commitment to both academics and athletics.
On her decision to join UC, Anaé shared: "To discover a whole new kind of soccer with one of West Virginia's top teams."

Zailee Roberts: Fr/ Forward/ Charleston, WV/ WVFC
Named First Team All-State in 2024, scored 99 goals in high school career. Helped her club win the 2025 State Cup.Served as Senior Class President, demonstrating leadership beyond the field.
Zailee shared: "I chose UC because it's close to home, has a welcoming community, and offers both a strong soccer program and academic environment. I see myself having a very positive four years here."

Zana Anderson Fr/ Forward Parrish,FL / FC Delco ECNL RL 
A 4-year varsity athlete, erved as an athletic spokesperson for the Student Government Association.
Reflecting on her commitment to UC, Zana said: "I felt that it was the best fit for me to grow and become the most successful person I can become."

Alice Gracie Singer: Fr/ Goalkeeper/ Portsmouth, VA/ Richmond United ECNL RL 
Recognized on the All-Conference Team throughout high school (grades 9-12). Named to the Best 11 at the 06/07 Virginia State Cup 2024.
Speaking about her decision to become a Golden Eagle, Alice noted: "I chose UC because the campus and the team felt like home immediately, and I knew then that this is the place I wanted to be."

Mayana Pooler: So/ Defender/ Tallmadge, OH/ Edward Waters University
Recognized as Defensive Player of the Year. Earned a spot on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll. Named to the President's List for both semesters.
When discussing her choice, Mayana shared that she chose UC to be challenged both academically and athletically. She was drawn to the university's strong academic programs that align with her future goals and the opportunity to compete at a higher level.

Grace Bowman: Fr/ Forward/ Lititz, PA/ Penn Fusion FC ECNL RL
Served as team captain. Member of the National Business Honor Society. Member of the Future Business Leaders of America.
She chose UC for the opportunity to continue playing soccer at a high level and further her education.

Sydney Crowe: Jr/ Defender/ Wilmington, OH/ Ohio University
Sydney arrives from Ohio University. In high school, named Conference Player of the Year. Earned All-Conference First Team honors in high school. At the collegiate level, helped her team win the conference tournament. Contributed to the team qualifying for the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history.
She chose UC for a fresh start, both academically and athletically. It felt like the right place to reconnect with her passion for soccer while being part of a competitive program, and the academic environment matched what she was looking for.
