| By:

Charleston, W.Va. — The Golden Eagles got themselves back into the winning column with a 38-24 Homecoming victory over visiting Concord on Saturday. It didn't come easy as Concord built a 17-0 lead with 10:00 in the 2nd quarter before Charleston started their comeback with a 47-yard field goal by Gryffin Mitstifer (Breinigsville, PA) at the 6:15 mark for the first points on the board. The Golden Eagles defense forced a short, 21-yard punt after a 3-and out by Concord that set up Charleston with good field position at the Mountain Lions' 45-yard line. Four plays later, graduate running back Justin McDuffie (Brooklyn, NY) found the end zone on a 4-yard touchdown run. Mitstifer would tack on the extra point to make it 17-10 in favor of the Mountain Lions at halftime.

Momentum continued to stay with Charleston in the second half as the Golden Eagles defense forced Concord into three punts and defensive back Montel Campbell (Louisville, KY) came up with a key interception in the end zone. Charleston would outscore Concord 28-10 to close out the game and secure the Golden Eagles their 13th consecutive Mountain East Conference victory dating back to October 28, 2023.
