Glenville, W.Va. — Charleston dropped both games of a Mountain East Conference doubleheader at Glenville State on Sunday, falling 3-0 in game one and 7-2 in game two.
Game 1
The Basics:

Records: Charleston 18-9 (2-1 MEC), Glenville State 16-7 (3-0 MEC)
How It Happened:
Charleston struggled to generate offense in the opener, finishing with three hits and being held scoreless across seven innings.
After a quiet first inning, Charleston fell behind in the second when Glenville State used a solo home run to take a 1-0 lead. The Golden Eagles were unable to respond in the following innings as they continued to search for momentum at the plate.
Charleston had its first real opportunity in the fifth when Megan Entler singled, but the Golden Eagles could not move her into scoring position. Glenville State added insurance runs in the third and fifth innings, extending the lead while Charleston's offense remained limited.
The Golden Eagles added another hit in the seventh off the bat of C. Masters, but were unable to string together a rally, finishing the game without pushing a run across.
Game 2

Score: Glenville State 7, Charleston 2
Records: Charleston 18-10 (2-2 MEC), Glenville State 17-7 (4-0 MEC)
How It Happened:
Charleston came out aggressive in game two, taking early control with a two run first inning.
E. Zucchero reached on an error to start the game and advanced into scoring position on a T. Hodson double. K. Moran brought in the first run with a sacrifice fly, and D. Pici followed with an RBI single to give Charleston a 2-0 lead.
Glenville State began to chip away in the third inning with an RBI single to cut the lead to 2-1. Charleston looked to answer but could not capitalize on its next opportunities at the plate.
In the fourth, Glenville State used a solo home run to tie the game before adding another run later in the inning to take a 3-2 lead. Charleston was unable to respond offensively, despite continuing to put balls in play.
The Golden Eagles collected six hits in the game, with multiple players contributing, but could not produce another scoring inning after the first. Glenville State broke the game open in the sixth with a four run inning, creating separation as Charleston was unable to recover late.
