Pittsburgh, Pa. — Charleston handled business on the road, using timely hitting and strong pitching to sweep Point Park in a conference doubleheader.
GAME 1
The Basics

How It Happened:
Charleston struck first in the opening inning as Maddie Entler drove in two runs with a single to give the Golden Eagles a 2-0 lead.
In the third inning, Charleston added two more runs when Mianna Oglesby launched a two-run home run to center, extending the lead to 4-1.
The Golden Eagles continued to build in the fourth as Kayla Moran doubled in a run to make it 5-1.
Charleston put the game away in the fifth inning with three runs. Bianca Polistina delivered a two-RBI single before Taylor Hodson followed with an RBI single to push the lead to 8-2.
GAME 2

Charleston once again struck first, scoring in the opening inning as Maddie Entler drove in a run to make it 1-0.
The Golden Eagles added another in the second when Bianca Polistina brought home a run with a single to extend the lead to 2-0.
Charleston continued to apply pressure in the fourth, capitalizing on an error to push the lead to 3-0.
The game broke open in the sixth inning. Ella Zucchero delivered a two-RBI double before scoring on a passed ball, stretching the lead to 6-0 and putting the game out of reach.
Laila Varney was dominant in the circle, tossing a complete-game shutout while working through traffic and keeping Point Park off the board to secure the sweep.
