Mohammad Rad is a UEFA B-licensed soccer coach with over 14 years of experience developing players in both Germany and the United States. He currently serves as the Head Soccer Coach at the German International School in Potomac, MD, leading boys’ and girls’ teams from middle school through high school.
A former semi-professional player in Germany, Mohammad played for clubs including FC Aldekerk, GSV Geldern, FC Italia 1998, SV Oppum, Preußen Krefeld, and Metro Tehran. His firsthand experience on the field gives him a deep understanding of the game, which he brings into every training session.
Mohammad is passionate about player development, both technically and tactically. He creates a positive and inclusive environment where athletes are challenged, supported, and motivated to reach their full potential—on and off the field. His coaching philosophy emphasizes structure, discipline, creativity, and joy in the game.
Dedicated to continuous growth, Mohammad regularly attends international coaching congresses and is working toward his UEFA A license. He speaks Persian, German, and English fluently, and is conversational in Arabic and Turkish—allowing him to connect with players and families from a wide range of backgrounds.
He lives in Vienna, VA, with his wife and daughter—both loyal soccer fans—and together they follow leagues and teams around the world.
