Pablo Ortiz

  • Title
    Goalkeeper Coach

Ortiz enters his first year as part of the Charleston coaching staff in Spring 2021 after spending one season as a goalkeeper coach for Cardinal Stritch University, the same college where the Spaniard completed 4 years as a starting goalie.

Originally from Cordoba, Ortiz came to the United States in August 2016 to pursue a major in business and sports management. During his four years, he acquired several awards, such as First-team All-Conference Member -three times in a row- and an All-American Honorable Mention. He was also voted Most Valuable Player by his teammates in 2018. Collectively, he won three straight regular season titles and three consecutive conference titles. During the 2019 season, Ortiz broke the University’s clean sheets record with 14, and was ranked #1 in the nation in shutouts per game. During his 4 years, his save percentage was 0’80. He also led the university to an all-time high ranking position in the NAIA, 7th. Ortiz received his bachelor’s degree in December 2019.

Ortiz spent time playing for the Brooklyn Italians during the 2019 NPSL season, making his debut against the New York Cosmos. He currently plays for the Milwaukee Torrent, the only professional outdoors soccer team in the city.
