Gerard Bryant enters his first year as an assistant coach for the University of Charleston Golden Eagles, assisting with sprints, jumps, hurdles, and multi-events.

Bryant joins UC after two years as a graduate assistant coach at Northern State University, where he assisted with jumps, and multi-events while earning his Master of Science in Sports Performance and Leadership. During his time with the Wolves, his athletes earned 3 NCAA D2 All-American honors, captured 3 conference championships, broke 4 school records, and produced 11 conference medalists.

Bryant attended West Texas A&M University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. Competing for the Buffaloes as a multi-event athlete, Bryant put together a standout career, earning 3 NCAA All-American honors in the decathlon and heptathlon, along with numerous All-Conference and All-Region honors. He set 2 school records and was a member of five Lone Star Conference indoor and outdoor team championships, as well as four NCAA Championship runner-up teams.

A native of Killeen, Texas, Bryant graduated from Harker Heights High School, where he was a letterman in track and football and earned multiple USATF titles and All-American honors.
