Kimberly Stiles is set to begin her sixth season at the helm of the Golden Eagles Softball team during the 2021-22 year.
The 2021 season saw continued success for the Golden Eagles, as they finished the 30-14 overall and 23-9 in the Mountain East Conference. UC earned four All MEC First Team selections and two NFCA Atlantic Region selections in 2021.  Despite a shortened 2020 season, UC finished the year, 14-2 and earned the 23rd national ranking in the final NFCA DII Top 25 poll.  The start to the 2020 season was the best in program history.
In 2019, the Golden Eagles went 33-21 on the season and posted a 21-11 MEC record. The team had two first team ALL MEC selections and two NFCA All-Region selections. In addition, Stiles earned her 200th career victory on February 24th, in a double header sweep of Mercyhurst. In 2018, Charleston went 27-25 on the season posting a 12-20 MEC record.
Her first season, with UC in 2017, she led UC to a 37-21 record with five All-Conference members. Stiles and the Golden Eagles reached the NCAA tournament for the third time in four seasons.Â
Stiles joined the UC Athletic Department staff in September of 2016 after spending the last six seasons (2011-16) as head softball coach at Davis & Elkins College. She posted a 33-win season in 2016 and has won at least 20 games in four of her six seasons at the helm of Senator softball, the only four in the past 22 seasons at Davis & Elkins.Â
Â
Stiles also served Davis & Elkins in additional administrative roles, acting as the Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Senior Woman Administrator.
Â
Prior to taking over Senator softball in 2011, she was on staff at Midwestern State where as an assistant her team finished the 2010 season with a 54-10 record. In addition, the Mustangs were named Lone Star Conference Regular Season Champions and NCAA Division II South Central Regional Finalists. Stiles and the rest of the softball staff at Midwestern State were named South Central Region Coaching Staff of the Year by the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association. She also served as a member of MSU's faculty during her tenure there acting as an instructor in the Department of Kinesiology.
Â
Stiles, a native of Thurmont, Md., played initially at the University of Vermont before transferring to University of Pittsburgh for her final three seasons. At both stops she earned conference academic honors from the American East and Big East while earning a B.A. in Communications and Political Science. She later earned a M.S. in Kinesiology/Sport Administration from Midwestern State University.
