Jenna Crittendon is entering her first season as an assistant at the University of Charleston. Prior to becoming an assistant coach for Becky Burke at the University of Charleston, Crittendon was a Deputy Sheriff for three years at the Boone County Sheriffs Department back in her hometown. Crittendon had recently became part of the departments SWAT team, being the first female to ever join the team.Â
Crittendon was a four-year starter at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH from 2012-2016. She earned her Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice in three years and then completed her Masters degree during her senior year.Â
During Crittendon’s playing years at Xavier, she was a frequent starter as a Freshman, averaging 24.3 minutes, 6.4 points and 5.4 rebounds. As a sophomore, she averaged a team-high 29.5 minutes a game and finished the season ranked third on the team in scoring (10.2 ppg). She also led the team in rebounding and free throw percentage, and had season-high 25 points to go with nine rebounds, two assists and a steal against Ohio University. As a junior, she pulled down 10 or more rebounds three times and scored in double figures 13 times. During Crittendon’s senior season, she hit the game-winning basket vs. Creighton as time expired on February 7, 2016. She had a season-high four, three-pointers in her final collegiate game vs. Butler in the BIG EAST Tournament on March 5, 2016. She finished her career with 53 blocks to rank ninth all-time at Xavier.Â
