Kyle Raines

 Kyle Raines is entering his second season with the Golden Eagle Track and Field team. He began his coaching career at Marshall University as a volunteer assistant, coaching the jumps, sprints, hurdles and multi event athletes. He quickly took over for the pole vault leading to a NCAA Division 1 National Championship first round qualifier and proceeded to rewrite the record books at Marshall, having numerous school records broken each year. Raines coached two different girls to multiple Conference Runner Up Honors as well as two others to Conference Third Team Honors. In his three and a half seasons with the Marshall Vaulters he led them to 51 points in Conference Championship meets. He also assisted with coaching the horizontal jumps, high jumps and multi events, coaching yet another NCAA Division 1 National Championship first round qualifier in the triple jump.
Raines received his degree in Exercise Science from West Virginia Wesleyan College where he also competed for the WVWC track team. While at Wesleyan he helped lead the team to 4 straight MEC Championships (2014-2017). His highest finish was a Conference Runner Up in 2015 in the pole vault. He also competed in the long jump, triple jump and the high jump.
Coach Raines will also join the track and field teams as a full-time credited Strength and Conditioning Coach. He has 5 years of experience with training athletes in and out of the weight room as well as addressing their nutritional and dietary needs.
