Todd Diuguid

Todd Diuguid serves as the Senior Associate Athletic Director at the University of Charleston. After ten years serving in an administrative role while being the head women’s soccer coach at Charleston, Diuguid stepped away as the women’s soccer coach following the 2022 season. Over the 22 seasons, Diuguid Finished his career with an overall record of 178-199-3. As the longest serving head coach for women’s soccer program at Charleston, Diuguid’s 2015, 2016 and 2021 teams each advanced to the NCAA tournament. With over 30 years of soccer experience as a player, referee, and coach. Coach Diuguid was named the 2010 WVIAC Coach-of-the-Year. The Women’s Soccer Program has the distinction of receiving the inaugural WVIAC Sportsmanship award in 2008 and has received the NSCAA Team Academic Award for sixteen consecutive academic years, 2007-2022. Several players have been named to the WVIAC and MEC All-Conference teams, NSCAA Atlantic All-Region teams, Daktronics All-Region teams, Freshmen-of-the-Year, Players-of-the-Year, Academic All-Americans and UC’s Outstanding Student-Athletes have all played under Coach Diuguid over the years. Diuguid came to West Virginia by way of Monticello, New York. Diuguid received a Bachelors-of-Arts in Criminal Justice while playing soccer for Marshall University in Huntington, WV. Post-graduation, Diuguid worked for non-profit child placing agencies within the state of West Virginia. As a social worker working within the foster care system, juvenile delinquents, and Welfare-to-Work programs. Diuguid continued to be involved with the sport while working with the children and families of West Virginia. Diuguid officiated scholastic and collegiate soccer in West Virginia and Kentucky before beginning his coaching career as an assistant coach for the boys’ team at South Charleston HS in 1995. Diuguid took over the head coaching position at Hurricane HS on the girl’s side, 1996-1998. Diuguid returned to the boy’s side for the 1999 and 2000 as the head coach at Nitro HS and received Regional Coach-of-the-Year honors both years. Diuguid has also led nine different West Virginia club soccer teams to the West Virginia State Championships. In 2006, Coach Diuguid’s U13 girls became the first girls’ team in state history to advance to the regional semifinals in the US Youth National Championships.

In an administrative capacity, Diuguid has served as the tournament director while hosting NCAA Championships for men’s soccer, baseball, softball, men’s, and women’s tennis. Diuguid has also accompanied men’s soccer, men’s basketball, men’s golf, and softball as the university’s administrator for NCAA Championships. Diuguid served as the women’s soccer chair of the NCAA DII Atlantic RAC and as a member of the NCAA DII Women’s Soccer National Committee from 2012-2016. Diuguid also served as a NCAA site representative for men’s and women’s soccer at varying locations within the Atlantic Region. Diuguid has served as a member of the Atlantic Region RAC for Men’s Golf from 2018-2021. Since the inception of the Mountain East Conference in 2014, Diuguid has served as the women’s soccer coaches chair until 2022. A member of the United Soccer Coaches Association since 1999, Diuguid served on the United Soccer Coaches Atlantic Region ranking committee from 2008-2022.
