Yvonne Ploeg

Ploeg enters her second season on the University of Charleston’s Women’s Soccer coaching staff after joining the University in August 2019 following her graduation from Lindsey Wilson College. At LWC, Ploeg received her bachelor's degree in communication with a minor in recreation, tourism and sport management after coming to the United States from Grootegast, Netherlands. 

After playing on the highest level in the Netherlands for four years, Ploeg came to play college soccer at Lindsey Wilson College. During her college career, Yvonne became the Best Female Newcomer at Lindsey Wilson College, a Mid-South Conference Freshman of the Year recipient, and a two-time NAIA All-American. Additionally, she was named the Best Offensive Player in the 2015 National NAIA Championship and received First Team National NAIA Championship honors. Yvonne and her team were also named the runner up in the 2015 National NAIA Championship. In 2017, she transferred to Georgia State University (NCAA) but returned to Lindsey Wilson College for her senior year. 

During the summer, Ploeg stays active as the Head Coach in the WSPL for the Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC. Ploeg is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Strategic Leadership from the University of Charleston.
