Corbin Bowers

Corbin Bowers was hired as the University of Charleston Men's Soccer Assistant Coach in April of 2024. He brings to the program ten total seasons of collegiate coaching including seven as a head coach.

Fall of 2024 marked Bowers' first season as the lead Assistant in which he was a part of a coaching staff that led the program to the NCAA National Championship game, narrowly losing out 3-2. On the way, the team picked up the MEC Regular Season Championship, the MEC Tournament Championship, and the Super Region I Title.

Born in Quito, Ecuador, and raised in Bogota, Colombia, Bowers grew up in South America and played semi-professionally before making his way to the United States to pursue a college degree. He played at the collegiate level by joining the NCAA DII Anderson University (S.C.) men’s soccer team. He assisted the program in capturing a South Atlantic Conference (SAC) regular season title, two SAC Tournament championships, and a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances in his playing career.

Following his graduation from Anderson in the spring of 2015, Bowers accepted an offer to become the Trojans’ Director of Operations for the next year, where the program secured another trip to the postseason.
Bowers moved on to his next role in the fall of 2016 at NCAA DIII Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota as an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s soccer programs. After just one season with the Cardinals, he was promoted to the head coaching position on the men’s soccer program in 2017; a position which he held until the end of the 2023 season.

Bowers spent the second highest amount of time of any head coach in school history as the program’s leader both on and off the field, placing third all-time in win percentage among those who spent at least five seasons in the trademark Saint Mary’s red and navy colors. He coached 15 All-Conference players, 22 Academic All-Conference student-athletes, 12 CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-District honorees, and one Academic All-American. In 2022, his team pledged 322 hours of community service to the Winona, Minnesota, area.

In 2021, Bowers was named a Co-Head Coach of Med City FC, a team that competes in the National Premier Soccer League. The team finished in second place of the Midwest region and with a final national ranking of No. 18. The team created three All-Conference players and one All-Region player.

Most recently, Bowers was the head coach of NAIA powerhouse Corban University. He guided the Warriors during the 2023 season to their tenth consecutive postseason appearance. During his tenure, the team saw one All-Conference athlete, eight Academic All-Conference, four Academic All-District, and six Scholar-Athletes named to the various academic teams.

Coach Bowers is a qualified coach with coaching licenses through both USSF and United Soccer Coaches. He has held strength and conditioning certifications with NCSA. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and conversational in Portuguese.

Corbin has moved to Charleston with his wife Avory, son Memphis, and dog Hazel.Â
